Proctor and gamble to purchase Natura/Innova pet products.?
Query by Mandy: Proctor and gamble to purchase Natura/Innova pet goods.?
I have been a Innova pet meals client for virtually a year. I realized nowadays that Proctor and Gamble is set to acquire the makers of Innova, Natura. P&B are the makers of Iams and Eukanuba, which I do not think are of excellent high quality. Does anybody know of a great canine food that is comparable to the Innova just in situation the good quality and components are changed?
Sry. I have two Chihuhuas. They are on the regular puppy meals.

I doubt the ingredients will change (it really is doable although) but P&G are Very unethical and conduct experiments on animals.
Orijen is supposed to be 1 of the best.
What do you assume? Answer below!

wow that would be awful
ive used innova for over 3 years and if proctor and gamble got a hold of it the food quality would be crap. If its true i would go to a food like wellness or blue buffalo. where did you here this??
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul and Diamond Naturals are good foods at reasonable prices.
Here’s a link to an article I found about the purchase http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9FGP1IG0.htm
Canidae is good and still independently owned, ingredients sourced in the US, meats are hormone and antibiotic free. I use their ALS, but they have several varieties. Been using them for two years now and been very happy.
It’s a good choice budget-wise, too, at $ 1 per pound in the largest bag and 468 calories per cup.

ETA: Here’s an article about the purchase of Natura Pet Products by P&G: http://sanfrancisco.bizjournals.com/sacramento/stories/2010/05/03/daily36.html?q=Natura%20pet
ETA: Not sure why the TD, but Canidae is still independently owned. They have entered into an agreement with Diamond to produce many of their products, but they are still independent. If you have concerns about Diamond, call Canidae. They will tell you which products are manufactured in Diamond plants. Very responsive.
If you were feeding the Innova brand, Canidae would be an option for you. So would Wellness.
I would just keep an eye out on the ingredients- it certainly won’t change over night but when you start to see any changes then its time to switch companies.
If you check out http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com you can take a look at ratings and reasons for the ratings on almost all dry kibbles out there.
If you’re feeding Innova EVO, then you’ll want to stick with a grain-free food… Orijen is probably the best of those, but Wellness CORE, Taste of The Wild and Instinct are the main grain-free top quality foods. If you didn’t feed EVO then finding a comparable quality would probably be fine.
Natura is going to still make the food at their plant. This is going to be a independent entity. Meaning Natura will still have control over their product and no products from china! Owners of Natura are in the mid 70′s and it was time for them to move on. I feed my 3 dogs EVO and my cat EVO. I to had concerns and that is why I called Natura yesterday. My pets love their product and I am going to stick with it.
Look into Horizon Legacy, Orijen, Pinnacle Peak Protein is OK though a level lower than Legacy, and Orijen. Wellness Core is a good food also. Go Naturals Grain free Endurance is also another high quality food.
I would be wary of anything made by Diamond. They are the king of recalls, and you couldn’t pay me to feed a Diamond product.
Anyway in all honestly I’m glad that Natura was bought up, this is pushing me to feed my boy a prey model raw diet.
